Change
A collaborative project with Paul Gibson.
Change explores our connection with the sea and the nostalgia surrounding it. Change was created by capturing the same seascape at 1pm daily during the leap year of 2012.
The video speed and volume of the work is dependent on the windspeed of Marsden Bay; South Shields; UK. The World Heritage Site from where the images were taken. An application was developed using the open source Processing platform that requests live wind data and maps this to both playback speed and amplification. This connects the piece to its coastal beginnings and allows for a meditative reflection on being Island inhabitants.
